Written in Stone is the eighteenth and final episode in the eighth season of the CBC drama Heartland. It originally aired March 29, 2015.
Synopsis[]
To give Amy and Ty the wedding they really want, Lou struggles to deal with a slew of hurdles. Ty and Amy get married at Heartland. Val gives Caleb money for his debt with Jesse. Georgie is able to get through to a troubled horse following in Amy's footsteps with Spartan.
Plot[]
Amy and Ty return to Heartland. Lou is relieved to learn they didn't get married, but her wedding plans all go wrong. Georgie names the new horse Trouble and Amy assures Georgie that the horse can have as many chances as it needs. Georgie changes her mind about being in the wedding party. Tim makes ill-advised comments to Peter, who challenges him on what it means to be a father. Caleb remedies a mix-up with the tuxedoes. The wedding commences at Heartland, with Amy and Jack riding Spartan and Paint from the barn to the house, led by Sugarfoot. It's Paint's last ride before retiring to pasture. Casey tells Tim she loves him and that she didn't hear him say it before. Val gives Caleb money to cover the lien against his property and admits that he made Ashley happy. Georgie asks Jeff if she can live with him, but he tells her it's better for her at Heartland. When Amy and Ty are locked out of the Dude Ranch on their wedding night, they return to the loft where their relationship began. Following in Amy's footsteps with Spartan, Georgie is able to get through to Trouble.

- This is Soraya's first appearance since Road to Nowhere from season 5, as her appearances in seasons 6 and 7 were either through mention or through archival footage.
- Soraya is not the only one at the wedding as Jade, Jeff, Cassandra, and Val also attend.
- Georgie and Soraya finally share a scene together, despite not talking to each other.
- Soraya flew all the way from England in order to attend Amy's wedding.
- This is Mrs. Bell's first appearance, as well as Sugarfoot's, since Breaking Down and Building Up.
- There's a red head who looks like Sandra that attends the wedding.
- Val reveals to Caleb that Ashley was the happiest when she was with him.
- Ashley is not the only one who doesn't attend the wedding as Shane, Miranda, and Mallory don't attend either.
