Synopsis[]
Amy must face a difficult truth when her efforts to help a young girl form a connection with her new horse takes an unexpected turn; Lou faces harsh criticism as mayor; a cattle drive brings up difficult memories for Jack.
Plot[]
Jade brings her stepsister, Parker, and new horse, Mickey, to stay at Heartland. Amy faces dual efforts of properly leaving loved ones—helping Parker connect with Mickey by giving Mickey the opportunity to be at peace leaving the former caretaker, and Amy having proper closure of a recurring dream of Ty leaving. Jack and Tim take Jade and Quinn on the Fall cattle drive, which raises difficult memories for Jack, when Ty earned Jack's respect. Lou faces harsh political criticism.

- The theme song goes back to non-acoustic, but there are some changes to it due to Ty Borden being written out of the series.
- The girl who first appeared protesting in the preceding episode returns here, where her name is revealed to be Parker and is the stepsister of Jade.
- Archival footage of when Ty first helped Jack with cattle is shown in this episode.
- Jack even relinquishes the black hat that Ty earned.
- Georgie gets an opportunity to go to Florida, something Amy thinks would be a mistake to turn down because of the Ty situation.
- Unbeknownst to Quinn, the real reason Jack was being hard on him was because this was the first time that Jack had done a cattle duty without Ty for the first time.
- Jack nearly explains the reasoning at the Fall Festival, but can't get the full words out.
- Parker's need to fight politics makes Lou remember the reason she had gotten into politics in the first place.
