Sugarfoot is Mrs. Bell's appaloosa miniature pony. He lives in the house and often forgets he's a horse by wanting to ride in cars and live in the house rather than a barn.

Season 1[]

When Mrs. Bell is unwell he helps support her to get her into the house. Amy takes Sugarfoot back to Heartland to look after him while Mrs. Bell is in hospital. He refuses to go in the trailer so rides in the car with Lou and Scott. Scott gives him a check and says he's healthy but has never had his teeth floated and never seen a blacksmith. Lou tries to comfort him when he misses Mrs. Bell, she talks and sings to him. When she becomes attached she lets him follow her around, Lou also recalls to Amy that she learnt to ride on Sugarfoot when she was younger. He later goes home with Vanessa Bell at Mrs. Bell's request, to be looked after while she's in hospital. (Ghost from the Past)

Season 2[]

When Mrs. Bell goes to Heartland to deliver herbs Sugarfoot becomes friends with Venture. Amy asks Mrs. Bell to borrow Sugarfoot to help Venture and agrees. Amy uses Sugarfoot's love of food to lead him where she wants him to be so that Venture will follow Sugarfoot. They manage to get Venture across the stream by following Sugarfoot. (Holding Fast) When Mrs. Bell receives a letter from Hudson County that she's breaking by-laws by having Sugarfoot living at her home they start trying to investigate an impound Sugarfoot. Lou helps and takes control of the situation by meeting Ms Newton from Hudson County and tells her that he's not livestock but a pet and guide animal, helping Mrs. bell after her heart attack. She goes by to see them and is surprised to see that he lives in the house as he refuses his bath. After Lou organises the Hudson Derby to raise money for a lawyer, she's surprised to learn that Mrs. Bell already has a lawyer on it and is working for free due to Sugarfoot being his cutest client. Season 3[]

Sugarfoot is seen with Mrs. Bell at her house when Lou tries to persuade her to partner up for the Jam-Bor-ee.(The Starting Gate)

Season 5[]

Ty heads to visit Mrs. Bell at her home and finds it in disarray and sugarfoot tied up outside. He fixes him up before bringing him by her new retirement home. He runs off and steals the birthday cake and balloons before finding his mom. (Nothing for Granted)
