Synopsis[]
Amy is surprised to learn Finn has returned to town. Jack and Tim win Hudson's Entrepreneur of the Year Award, which leads to unexpected problems for Lou and the arrival of someone from Tim's past.
Plot[]
Jack wants to hire extra hands to help move the herd to the summer pasture, but Tim disagrees. Lou receives a letter informing her that Heartland Beef won Hudson's entrepreneur of the year award which has a negative effect on her mayoral rating and business even though she did not choose the winner. Lisa returns to Heartland. Amy sees Finn at Maggie's who has been away from Hudson for months and did not tell her he was leaving. Fred Garland receives Jack and Tim's approval on a newspaper ad for Heartland Beef after winning the award. Lou suggests to Katie that they take a trip to Florida to surprise Georgie, but Katie wants to stay in Hudson for the summer. Jessica receives an offer from Ezra to show her photos in a gallery in New York. Lou decides Katie should waitress at Maggie's for the summer, and Katie convinces Parker to work with her. Finn asks Amy for help with his horse, Tucker, who is frightened of being shoed, and she agrees. A man from Tim's oil field past shows up and threatens his business, forcing Tim to own up to past mistakes. Finn finally apologizes to Amy. Lou receives a call from Quinn who tells her that Georgie had an accident at her show and is in the hospital unconscious. Jessica shows Tim a photo of Amy and Finn looking at each other fondly.

- After making a voice only cameo in a recap from the preceding season, Georgie finally makes a return this season, albeit through a FaceTime call.
- We learn that Tim suffered another guilt trip before he even returned to Heartland before and after Marion passed.
- This story is that this guy Mike had to go to a trench after Tim got drunk, which resulted in the former getting bones broken when the trench collapsed, but knowing Tim wanted the job, he covered for him, even though he knew it would affect his life.
- Mike and Tim used to let their hairs grow long.
- Katie complains to Lou on how she wants to do teenager things during the summer, including getting a job.
- When given the job to work at Maggie's, Katie enlists Parker to join her, where they eventually learn the customers are trash talking Lou behind their backs, something that concerns Katie.
- Finn returns having been dealing with family issues, something Amy wished he had told her as she had to take over for him while he was away.
- The former's horse is frightened from loud hammer thuds thanks to Finn's grandad, but eventually gets over that fear thanks to Amy.
- Jessica reveals she has an award going on at the Big Apple that she would like to attend, something that intrigues Mike.
- Lisa returns for the first time this season since leaving for a horse show in the preceding season's finale.
- Mike owns and RV, something Tim temporarily bought to live in in the preceding seasons.
- Despite Tim confessing the truth about what happened to Mike during the awards show, Mike still threatens to get it out to the press, but a remark from Jack stops him from doing so.
- Mike leaving angrily from the Gala foreshadows the events that happen towards the end of Lurking in the Shadows.
- Georgie is the third character to be taken to the hospital after Amy and the late Ty.
