Second Chances is the fifteenth episode in Season 3 of Heartland. It aired March 7, 2010.

Synopsis

Amy and Ty face a tough moral dilemma when they discover that Mr. Hanley has abandoned his horses and is on the brink of losing his farm. Jack and Lisa's relationship is on the line when Lisa comes back from Europe and feels that there may be something between Jack and Val. Lou is in the middle of wedding plans. Mallory is being extra nice to Lou because Mallory wants to be asked to be one of her brides maids.

Plot

Amy and Ty begin looking after Mr. Hanley's abandoned farm after finding his untended horse. Mr. Hanley returns days later to say he is bankrupt and losing the farm, and Amy is upset with him for leaving his horses.

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) learn of this and plan to take possession of the horses and possibly euthanize some of them. Ty and Amy find Hanley's sister has returned to Hudson and she helps save the farm.

Lou is busy with the Dude Ranch and wedding plans. She asks Marnie to be her maid of honour after Amy declines, but they have issues about WWAHH (Women Working at Home in Hudson) causing Marnie to quit. Reminded of the importance of family, Amy asks to be Lou's Maid of Honor.

Mallory ingratiates herself to Lou, hoping to be a bridesmaid.

Lisa returns from Europe and suspects something is going on between Jack and Val. They talk about it and Jack proposes to Lisa.

Caleb is released from hospital and moves into his trailer, leaving Ashley, Val and Ty concerned about his recovery after he falls. Lou allows Caleb to stay at the Dude Ranch. Caleb and Ashley argue and he blames her for his accident, causing Ashley to break up with him.
