Jake Anderson is a young cowboy who is always trying to catch Mallory's Attention

Mallory and Jake liked each other for a while, but then juvenile delinquent, Badger, comes back to Heartland and Mallory falls for him and they kiss. Whilst ‘dating’ Badger, Mallory starts to realise that she also likes Jake and she is stuck in a dilemma between the two boys, even though Jake is dating Jamie, partially to get the attention of Mallory. After a few more kisses, Badger leaves, ending his and Mallory’s relationship. Jake eventually marries Mallory in Season 10.

Season 1[]

Jake attends the Hudson Show and introduces himself to Amy as her fan, when he notices Mallory and he catches her eye. After Amy wins at the Fall Finale he gets excited and hugs Mallory who shoves him off knocking him over. At the party at the Ranch he tries again to talk to Mallory who eventually succumbs and hangs out with him. (Coming Together)

Season 2[]

Jake attends Amy's surprise birthday party and asks Mallory to dance but she declines. (Ghost Horse) Jake attends the Ray Philips Memorial Cattle Drive and uses it as another way to impress Mallory. He finds her later and she tries to uses all their differences as a way to not spend time together, not putting Jake off, she asks him to dance. (Dancing in the Dark) Jake continues to show up wanting to spend time with Mallory, inadvertently annoying her. She keeps making excuses as to why they can't hang out and starts to avoid him. He doesn't get the hint and eventually she breaks and tells him that she doesn't like him the way he likes her and wants him to leave her alone. He later comes back to Heartland with the cover of finding his knife, Jack lays it all out and tells Mallory that he came to see her and she misses him. They head off together while Jake practices roping. (Holding Fast) Jake rides the mechanical bull outside Maggie's and hurts himself when he falls. Mallory tells Ty that she can't attend the rodeo because she promised Jake she'd play games with him. (Sweetheart of the Rodeo) Jake arrives at Heartland looking for Mallory, Jack makes him nervous when he asks how he knows she's here not at boarding school. Mallory jumps in to help and tells Jack that they're both keeping their mouths shut. Mallory tells Jake that he's got come of Mindy's lipstick on a napkin and will sell it to pay him back for paying for the bus tickets to get her home. He tells her that he did it because that's who he is he doesn't want repaying. The next day, Jake comes back to Heartland and Jack tells him that he doesn't approve of what he did but Jake tells him that "a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do" and heads in to see Mallory. Jake goes to Heartland when his family attend a funeral. He and Mallory play Mario Kart breaking something, frustrating Jack, he takes them to Maggie's for lunch to stop them destroying the place. When Peter comes into Maggie's Mallory's surprised to see him, she explains to Jake who he is. Mallory is shocked when she see's Lou with Peter and realises he's the internet guy. Back at Heartland, she talks to Jake and tells him that she's not sure what to do and Jake tries to convince her not to do anything. They see Lou and Peter arrive and watch to see what happens. Season 3[]

Jake and Mallory ask for Amy's help to catch his new horse, Kramer. As she's busy with a client horse, they enlist Caleb instead. They manage to catch him and bring him back to Heartland. Mallory urges Jake to ask Amy to work with Kramer as his parents have said if he continues to jump fences they'll have to sell him. Amy has a look at him and he quickly becomes friends with Duke, she agrees to work with him and waves the fee as he's helping her too. Amy tells Mallory and Jake that she's separated Duke and Kramer now that Duke's socialising more. She tells him she hasn't seen him jump so it might have been a phase, when he suddenly jumps the fence to be with Duke. Amy jumps him and tells Jake he's a natural jumper, he jumps because he loves it not to escape. She recommends him bringing him over to be jumped to get his energy out and suggests that if Mallory still wants to learn she should jump on Kramer. (Man's Best Friend) When Mallory tries to call Badger, Jake arrives and is upset she forgot their plans. She apologises and they re-schedule for tomorrow so he leaves. The next day, Jake finds Mallory in the barn and is upset when she again forgets their plans, he tells her he was waiting but she never showed up. She tries to apologise again and make up for it with ice cream but Jake tells her that he's done waiting for her. (The Haunting of Hanley Barn)

Jake drops by Heartland with Chelsea, he asks Mallory if she's still jumping Kramer and if he can borrow him back to let Chelsea learn to jump. Jake comes back a few days later to pick up Kramer, he tries to catch up with Mallory since it's been a while. He asks if she's seeing someone and she tells him she's been texting a guy from the city but hasn't seen him much lately. She asks if Chelsea is his girlfriend and he doesn't deny it. They go to get Kramer and laugh about how he used to jump the fences. (The Happy List)

Mallory

Jake introduces himself to Amy at the Hudson show as her fan. He meets Mallory there and is instantly smitten, Mallory not so keen. He keeps trying and she eventually spends time with him. As time goes on, Mallory begins to develop a true friendship with Jake and he continues determined to show her how much he cares. Although their friendship continues Jake always hopes for more. When Badger returns and she starts forgetting about their plans Jake tells her he's done waiting.


Chelsea

Jake goes to Heartland to collect Kramer from Mallory so that his girlfriend, Chelsea, can learn to jump him.
