Season 2[]
When Spartan gets taken by Wes, Amy and Ty go to auction houses to try to find him. Ty finds Harley and wants to buy him to help Amy take her mind off Spartan. He starts bidding for him and Amy tries to talk him out of it but he wins the bid. When he gets Harley home Ty tells Jack and Lou that he bought him for Amy but she's adamant Spartan is coming home. (The Ties That Bind) Ty works with Harley trying to break him, Jack offers him help but as he's his first horse he wants to do it himself. When Kit shows him her method to break a horse, tying a soft rope around his neck and leg so he can't run off, Ty's not keen and she storms off taking it personally. Later, he hasn't made much progress as Harley refuses to listen to him, Jack convinces him to take his time and he'll get through to him quicker. He slowly mounts him and then Harley takes off bucking and Ty's thrown. He continues to try and is finally able to mount him and ride him. (Full Circle)
Season 3[]
Amy tacks up Harley and Spartan for a ride but Ty doesn't want a big goodbye so instead goes to work with Scott for the day. Ty says he's going to miss Harley when he leaves for university. As a going away present Amy picks out a halter with Harley's name on it. (Broken Arrow)

Amy uses Harley as a comfort when Ty's missing, he also starts to become distressed without him around. After Amy puts on one of Ty's jackets Harley seems brighter as he can smell him, this give Amy an idea. Amy rides Harley to try and find Ty with the help of Lou, Peter, Jack and Tim. When they get close Harley starts to smell Ty and this helps lead them right to him, bringing him home safe. Once they're back at Heartland Amy finally gives Ty the halter she bought for him with Harley's name on. (Eye of the Wolf) Ty rides Harley to Marion's memorial. (The Reckoning)
