Greater Expectations is the eighteenth and final episode in the tenth season of the CBC drama Heartland. It originally aired March 26, 2017.
Synopsis[]
Caleb and Cassandra get married. Amy goes into labor, the Heartland family welcomes the sweet baby girl Lyndy. The granddaughter and niece have much fun with the new baby. Amy and Ty see ghost horse Ty doesn't get sick but does collapse waking up in a different place.
Plot[]
Amy goes into labor and the Heartland family welcomes a new baby. Caleb and Cassandra get married. Georgie tries to gentle Ghost without success, eventually giving up and letting him go. However, Ghost later returns to pay the new family a special visit and even allows Georgie to pet him before leaving again. Lou asks Mitch to be her plus-one at Caleb and Cassandra's wedding, denying that Peter's being at the ceremony would be awkward. However, Mitch arrives just in time to see Lou and Peter rush from the church holding hands and drive away (because Amy had gone into labor). The next day, Lou goes looking for Mitch and is distressed to see an empty lot where his trailer had been.

- Caleb and Cassandra are the second couple to get married this season after Jake and Mallory.
- Caleb's marriage is technically him remarrying another woman since he divorced from Ashley when she went to college.
- Caleb's second marriage is the first to be done offscreen.
- This is the second time where a baby delivery takes place at Heartland, only this time, Amy's baby is delivered in the barn loft instead of the cabin where Katie was delivered.
- Katie also does not appear in this episode, despite her receiving a new cousin.
- This is the second time where Mitch's final scene in an episode involved Peter and Lou.
- Lou is distraught about finding his trailer gone, even after rejecting the deal with Peter.
- In order for Ty to be present for his baby's birth and Caleb's wedding, Caleb disguises himself as a nurse in order to take him out of the hospital.
- The day after the events happen, Ty is cleared as a free man from the test results.
- For the first time since the season 10 premiere, "Nathan" and "Nellie" share scenes together.
- Ty and Amy give their baby Marion for a middle name to honor Amy's late mother.
- Their baby is later given a name in the season 11 premiere.
- Ghost might've somewhat been tamed in this episode thanks to Georgie.
