Florence is seen with her friend Pearl trying to stop Lou entering the Jam-Bor-ee.
Florence and Pearl over hear at Maggie's that Lou is planning to enter the Jamboree with Mrs. Bell's recipe. They head over to gleefully tell them that it's not allowed to enter with someone else's recipe leading to Lou and Mrs. Bell teaming up instead. At the jamboree, they again are disgusted to see Lou breaking rules and handing out pamphlets so march over to her and tell her off. Lou then brings out a copy of the regulations and reads back word for word that as a newcomer she's allowed to distribute information pamphlets. This causes Pearl and Florence to scuttle off back to their table. (The Starting Gate)
