Clinton “Clint" Riley is Ty Borden and Georgie Fleming-Morris's former probation officer, he is often seen checking in on their progress. After seeing the great work Jack has done with problem children he often brings more children for him to look after. In season 12 Clint arrives with Luke Kashani for Ty and Amy to look after.
Season 1[]
Clint arrives at heartland to inform Jack about how now that Marion has died, someone needs to sponsor Ty. He leaves him to think about it and Jack signs the papers. (After the Storm) When Clint arrives for a routine visit for Ty, he's not too happy when he arrives to find out that Ty isn't there. Jack shows him around to distract him and stretch out his time there until Ty returns. Amy and Mallory mess with his car so that he can't leave but fixes it very quickly. As he's about to leave Ty arrives. (Ghost from the Past) Clint arrives for a visit with Ty, he congratulates him for passing his probation and wishes him luck staying out of trouble. (Coming Together)
Season 2[]
Clint arrives at Heartland with some kids to stay for the weekend. He tells Lou about he schedule he has prepared. When Amy and Ty go to the Dude Ranch to pick up the kids they find a chair on fire. They put it out and can't see the kids anywhere, until they steal Ty's Truck, Amy calls Jack and he and Clint stop them. Clint and Lou tell off Tara and Badger for the fire and stealing Ty's truck, Tara tries to tell Lou that they couldn't stay inside because of the "vermin". She produces a snake to scare Lou and Clint but Lou tells them that she grew up there but Clint is spooked. When Clint starts wheezing he asks Lou if there are peanuts in the food, she tells him that she doesn't use any in case of peanut allergies. Clint explains that he is allergic to peanuts. And he is currently suffering an allergic reaction so Lou rushes to get him to the hospital. Ty arrives and Clint asks for his help with the kids as his poster boy. Jack and Ty tell Clint that Badger went out for a smoke and got lost taking a spill on his way back, he's happy that this weekend was a success and vows to bring more kids out in the future. (Do or Die)
Season 3[]
After learning Badger has run away, Clint arrives at Heartland to ask Ty if he knows where he is. Mallory tells them that he was there but talked about hiking to the bus station, him and Ty rush off to try and find him. Ty coaches Badger and tells him the best way to apologise to Clint, knowing he likes eye contact make sure to look him in the eye. Badger sits opposite Clint and looks him in the eye apologising, he tells him he's truly sorry and he wants the chance to improve. Clint's impressed with his apology and how mature he handled it, so gives him minimal punishment. (The Haunting of Hanley Barn)
Season 12 and 13[]
He brings Luke Kashani to Heartland to help him. He was happy that Ty was able to connect to the boy and later he came to give Luke back to his mom when she was better.
Season 14[]
He arrives at Heartland for Amy's first clinic in over a year, which surprises Amy especially as she was already nervous about the clinic. He watched as Shadow refused to do what she suggested on day one of the clinic, which upset Amy.
Career[]
Probation officer with Social Services
From the pilot, Clint is in charge of Ty's probation and had organised for him to be placed at Heartland. He later brings out Badger and Tara to spend a weekend in the hopes to help them mellow. When Badger runs away, he head straight to Heartland to see if he wound up there. When Katie's aunt complained about Lou and Peter, he was unfortunately for them, on vacation. He is seen again when he approaches Ty needing help with Luke before Luke's mother fixed herself.
