Chase Powers is first introduced in Season 3 during the episode Ring of Fire. He comes off as arrogant and desperate to win the Ring of Fire competition, but is shown to actually be very good with horses. He seemed to take an interest in Amy and throughout seasons, he flirted with Amy and once they kissed, but Amy tells Ty about the kiss but not that see has feelings for Chase. Amy did mention to Ty in the fourth season finale that she had a feelings for Chase. This prompts Ty to get really angry and he ends up punching him twice ( for spooking Mrs. Bell's pony, Sugarfoot and going after Amy). In Family Business, Tim is putting Dexter up for sale to a claiming race. Chase promises Amy to claim Dexter... only if they get together again. Ty and Chase make a bet in a pool game, whoever wins will put a claim on Dexter. But even though Ty wins, Chase still wants to claim Dexter. Ty hits him, prompting Jack to intervene.

In season 6, Chase has a wife and visits Amy. He still, although, continues his flirting with Amy. He kissed her saying he still had feelings for her and he was the one who hadn't moved on, she slapped him and told him never to do that again. He is very embarrassed and leaves immediately. This time Amy tells Ty that she does not like him AT ALL. Chase never comes back after this. He is a manipulative liar who gets what he wants.
