Synopsis[]
The man who shot Ty returns to Hudson and Amy and the rest of the family grapple with how to react; Jessica enlists Katie and Parker's help to deal with a demanding Dude Ranch guest while Lou is away.
Plot[]
Rick Adderly’s mother, birdwatcher Gladys, is a guest at the Dude Ranch because Lou told her that she would be able to photograph a mountain bluebird. Amy sees poacher Grady, who shot her and Ty, working at a gas station. She tells Jack; Jack tells Tim, and they both go to the gas station. Grady shows no remorse, and Tim hits him. Amy is angry with Tim, saying that Grady was aiming at a wolf, not her and Ty. She goes to the gas station and tells Grady that Tim should not have hit him. Grady says it was an accident that she and Ty were shot; he was following J.D. Werth’s orders. Amy replies that she has moved on and so should he.

- Aside from the recap, Jade and Logan do not appear in this episode.
- Jade is the third recurring character to make a final appearance in a particular episode, but still make an appearance in the recap of the proceding episode, the others being Ahmed and Mitch.
- Grady, the guy who squealed JD Werth for the events that happened in the season 13 finale, returns in this episode.
- There are two things Amy brings up what Ty did before his demise
- Traveling to Mongolia to save animals.
- Danced with Amy on top of a truck when they couldn't make the dance.
- Lou is both directly and indirectly mentioned in this episode, but does not make a single appearance.
- This is also the only episode of season 15 where she does not appear.
- Rick mentions he has a husband, which highly hints that he is gay, making him the first LGBTQ+ character in the series.
- This is the first episode where we see a member of Rick's family: his mother.
- His father is mentioned to be already dead.
- She has a dream where Grady shows up at Heartland not only squeegeeing her front window, but also holding a gun.
- Parker's last name is revealed to be Yang, meaning she is the first Asian character in the series, though she already made her first appearance in season 14.
- During Tim's visit to the gas station, Grady mentions that he was following orders from JD Werth whereas during Amy's second visit, Grady says he apologizes for what happened to Ty, meaning he shows some remorse.
- Tim held onto so much anger on Grady being back he had out of his head when helping Jack with the bull injection and Champ not acting calm, which is what Amy knew from looking at.
- According to Amy, some have helped her cope with her anger: Spartan after Marion died and Lyndy after Ty died. She also recommends Tim to do the same thing.
- Jessica gives Parker and Katie the task to look for a bluebird nest, which almost goes awry until the two girls keep looking during a physical outing, the outing where Parker admits that Logan doesn't share the same feelings and that he only danced with her because Jade told him to.
- This would explain why Parker quickly gave up on the card game and almost finding the bluebird.
- Apparently, Parker and Katie found more than just a bluebird during their search, which is what impressed Rick's mom even more.
- According to Marian by Amy, bluebirds are supposed to bring happiness, which Lyndy admits before Amy cuddles her.
